No. But I think I can see where you are going with your post. You want to learn how many Technicians do Admin work? If this is the case then I would imagine all of us to to a large or small extent. There is no universal contract of employment contract which covers all of science support staff's duties. It is up to each individual school/college/academy to determine for themselves the level of admin support that they wish for their Science technician to carry out.
For 20 years I did effectively every imaginable Admin Job that was possible to do, for example reprographic work, filing, collating binding - you name it i done it! Today, under new leadership, most of those duties (but not all) are covered by a dedicated reprographics guy.
So to address your query better, it is entirely up to your principal and ultimately the contract of employment that you signed up to or agreed to do when you first took on the job. Your Contract of employment will be different to mine as well as the technician person who works in the next county from you.
if you object to what you are asked to do then you should have a chat with your line manager in the first instance and I would advise that you approach him/her with the suggestion that doing too much admin work can seriously impact upon the quality of your role as a Science technciian as well as have implications for any health and Safety related to the job role.
If you line manager fails to listen to you then, i am afraid the remaining choices are unpleasant and i wont go into them here. Good luck
