What support would you like to have access to?

What support would you like to have access to? Support may include a local technician’s network, a technician advisor, or what CPD is available?
Whatever support you would like we want to know, we don’t just mean the support we could offer as a web site, but the support many of the organisations out there may be able to offer you if they knew what you actually want.

My wife has just started as a school science technician.
We both think it would be a good idea to join a union.
But no union has a presence at the school, except presumably the teaching unions.
I doubt these would be appropriate, but what other options are there and what can you expect of a union which has no rep familiar with your work place?
